All the cats and kittens available for adoption are rescued from a life of misery, homelessness, loneliness, hunger, and cold outside. We seek permanent, loving homes for them. We also need foster homes to care for them on a temporary basis. If you wish to adopt any of the following cats, please contact us at cause_4_paws@yahoo.ca at any time to arrange to see the cat before starting the adoption process. Here are some of our cats. Please note that we have a wide
variety of kittens that are looking for homes also but they are not shown
here...
Marble
"Hi, my name is Marble, appropriately enough for I am a beautiful, marbled calico cat with rich coloring of black, apricot, and white. I'm a painter, so called because I have a white spot at the end of my tail from dipping it into cans of white paint. Unlike Dottie, I do not come from a good home, but instead I come from a neglectful, uncaring home from which Cause 4 Paw rescued me. I was left to have litter of kittens outside in March when it was so very cold, and three of the four died when they were only 1 day old. They froze to death. My heart completely broke. But three days after I was taken, one of my kittens, a little gold and white male named Nugget, was miraculously found alive, and I lavished all of my maternal love on him. He is adopted now, and I'm so happy he found a good home. I am accustomed to being able to go outside, and would never be happy as an inside-only cat. I am very affectionate and loving, if a little strong-willed and territorial. If you can give me the loving, forever home I never had, and you have some space for me to roam, please contact Cause 4 paws to arrange to meet me." Miss Spitfire
"Hi, I'm Miss Spitfire, and I really live up to my name. I'm a brat! I love to run around and get into all sorts of trouble and mischief. I'm a beautiful, slender, short-haired dappled tabby with amber eyes and chiseled features. I have thumbs, which is meant to bring good luck. I guess it has for me because I was rescued, along with my littermate Bubbles, from outside a Super C in Pointe-Claire where we had been abandoned as kittens. We could easily have died there. Now I live the life of riley at Cause 4 Paws, where I have made friend with Sheba, a very friendly black cat who is also mischievous and bratty like me, and we have so much fun driving our rescuers crazy. If you want someone to liven up your life, and infuse it with energy, excitement, and adventure, then I am the cat for you!"
Ginger
"A long-haired ginger and white female cat (this colour usually indicates male cats and found in females only 10% of the time), with a beautiful fluffy tail, Ginger was rescued from the deplorable conditions in another rescue group, and since she has been with us she has developed a taste for going outside. She would be better suited to a suburban or countrified setting where the great outdoors is accessible to her. She is very affectionate with both humans and other cats. She has taken many kittens under her wing, and loved and protected them as though they were her own, although she herself never had kittens. She is also accustomed to dogs, even large-breed dogs."
Sable
Hi, I'm Sable, and along with my littermate Sox I was rescued in St-Henri. I am a pure sandy-colored tabby with some hints of ginger-beige, and a gentle, affectionate nature. I miss my sister Sox, who has been adopted, whereas I am still waiting for my forever home. I love to tease my foster mom by sitting on each of her shoulders as she attempts to work on the computer. I just hope she sees the humor! I am healthy, energetic, playful, and get along with other cats, having adopted one of the older female cats in their foster home as my surrogate cat mom. My fur is soft and silky, and my markings are exquisite.
Joe Di Maggio and Marilyn
Where have you gone, Joe Di Maggio? Well, I haven’t gone anywhere. I’m right here in Cause 4 Paws, available for adoption, along with my lovely lady Marilyn (who was named after Marilyn Monroe, even if she more closely resembles Marilyn Manson!). I’m the handsome black male in the photo, and Marilyn is the lovely black and white lady with the spot above her lip, just like the 1950s sex goddess. I was rescued from the mean streets of Ottawa, and Marilyn was dropped off at a pet shop. The shop took her litter of kittens, but rejected her, so Cause 4 Paws came to the rescue. We met at the home of the founder, and it was love at first sight. We are available for adoption separately or together, and all we ask for is the love we were denied in the first part of our lives.
Layla
Layla, got me on my knees … Hi, I'm Layla, beloved of George, the only remaining kitten from the Beatles litter (see the handsome long-haired black and white cat with the mop-top, below). However, Eric Clapton cat stole me away from him (it is so flattering to be fought over!), and now I am his lady. I am a beautiful tortoise shell cross tabby, rescued from outside in Laval. I'm a very quiet, loving and affectionate cat. I am perfectly happy as an inside-only cat; wanderlust is unknown to me. I would be well placed in an apartment or a home. I love to cuddle all day-am definitely a lap-cat and not so much a playful ball of fire. I would make a wonderful companion for an older person, or someone who is home a lot, and has the time to give me the affection I crave.
Georges Hi, I'm George. My littermates and bandmates Paul, John, and Ringo have all been adopted, and I have lost my lady love Layla to Eric Clapton cat. But I'm still searching for my perfect guru. I am extremely affectionate, and will wind myself around your feet and follow you anywhere. I'm a long-haired black and white tuxedo cat, with massive thumbs that I need for my guitar playing.
Pandora
Hi, I'm Pandora, a beautiful, sleek, black panther cat, all-gifted, like my namesake in Greek mythology. My three adorable tuxedo kittens, Puffin, Penguin, and Panda, and myself were found outside in Pierrefonds in the freezing cold, and were brought to Cause 4 Paws. I know it sounds like kittens with names like Puffin and Penguin should be accustomed to the cold, but nothing can prepare you for being outside, cold and hungry with babies in tow, in this frigid winter. Now we are inside, warm and cozy, looking for a permanent home. I have to say that Puffin and Penguin are noisy, rambunctious little boys, like their marine bird namesakes-they sure make their presence felt. My little girl Panda, on the other paw, is quiet, sweet, and demure, like her cousins in the Chinese bamboo forests. Will you give us the forever home that has eluded us thus far?
Callie Cat in a Hot Tin Roof Hi, my name is Ceiling Callie, and I was rescued from a colony behind an apartment block on Sources Blvd. where there are many cats and kittens living in need. My brother Ruby and I were rescued at the same time, but Ruby was less timid and shy than me, and he was adopted almost immediately. Somebody in the apartment block said they would take me in and foster me for a while, but this apartment had a hole in the bathroom ceiling, and since I was afraid I jumped up into that hole. I stayed for over 2 months, while Mary, one of the Cause 4 Paws volunteers, tried everything to get me down. After 69 harrowing days, she finally released me from my ceiling prison. She found a small trap that would fit up in the smaller-than-crawl-space of the ceiling and tied it. I was so close - Mary could see my eyes reflecting the light. I was obviously hungry but was too scared to come any closer. Mary left then came back and there I was, in the trap! Needless to say, Cause 4 Paws never sent any more cats to this foster home, even if the people did mean well! I am now in a good foster home, where I stick to the ground floor :>) The lady here is working on socializing me to make me adoptable. I think I've more than paid my dues in this life, between being born outside and spending part of my adolescence in a ceiling. Let's hope somebody will adopt me and give me the love I so richly deserve. I'm a lovely calico cross tabby, short haired; my fur is very thick and soft to the touch.
The golden gang from Rigaud
Hi, we are four lovely kittens that were rescued in the countrified area of Rigaud. Our mothers, and those of the three other kittens form our gang that are already adopted, are three outside feral cats that Cause 4 Paws wants to have spayed so that they won't produce more kittens. Allow us to introduce ourselves to you. Hi, I'm Jack, a short haired ginger tabby and white kitten who is very friendly and talkative. I get along not only with other cats but with dogs too, which is more than you can say for a lot of cats! I'm very handsome, affectionate, and I love to cuddle. Hi, I'm Mittens, the beautiful tortoise shell, so named because my paws are that lovely ginger-apricot colour that makes tortoise shells so distinctive, unique, and sought-after. Like all torties, I am female. I love to give lots of hugs and kisses, am very playful, and like my brother Jack, I love to talk. Guess it runs in the family! Hi, I'm Garfield, but unlike my comic strip counterpart, I am very sweet, calm, and quiet. And I am not a dark ginger colour but the softest, warmest, most welcoming honey-beige you can imagine. I'm not a schemer and a brat but am very loving, although I do have an independent streak. My long hair is as soft a silk, and my personality is melt-in-your-arms loving and warm. Hi, I'm George, the most recent rescue. I was originally thought to be Georgette, and my brothers and sisters won't let me live that one down! I'm smaller than the others, and also somewhat shyer. I have not been in the house for as long as them, and I still need someone to give me much one-on-one time to bring me out of my shell. I do not like loud noises, and like Garfield I am very independent. I am best suited in to quiet home with no small children. Cause 4 Paws also seeks donations toward the spays of the three outside stray moms who produced these kittens.
Pom-Pom, Tom Pouce and Dame Marianne
Hi, we were rescued from the outside in DDO; our mom is a beautiful calico cat that the wonderful family who rescued us is keeping. I, Pom-Pom, truly live up to my name because I am a beautiful, soft, cuddly, brown tabby and white, Main-Coon-like cat with the most beautiful silky fur you can imagine, and liquidy, love-me eyes. When you pick me up and cuddle me, I melt into your arms like a little ball of fluff. I love to be loved and to give love in return.
My short-haired brother Tom-Pouce (Tom Thumb), on the other paw, is more of a brat, more playful and rambunctious than I am. He is a gray tabby and white, and is also very loving and affectionate, but more of a ball of fire than me and my sister Marianne are. Dame Marianne is a very sophisticated and cultured lady. She is a long-haired gray tabby and white, also very cuddly and loving. She is, by now, accustomed to the better things in life, and is, as titled ladies tend to be, aware that she is a very beautiful cat.
Rudolph Hi, I was rescued from outside, and came to Cause 4 Paws just before Christmas, so I guess I am named after Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, although I am so graceful and elegant I could have been named after Rudolph Nureyev. I am a young, male silver-grey tabby with gorgeous, green, green eyes. I am very patient and gentle, and tender around small kittens. I love to be petted and cuddled, and to make up for the affection I missed during all of that time I was trying to survive outside. I am very grateful that I am now inside, warm, cozy, and loved, but I am in a temporary foster home, and still seek my forever home.
Ghost
Hi, I'm Ghost, the kittens of a lovely and affectionate black cat, Bella, who is also available for adoption. I am a diluted tortoise-shell, female, with soft colouring of peach and downy gray, and the most adorable little face in the world. I'm about 4 months old, and despite my name, I am a visible and loving presence in any home.
Estrella and Luna-May
Hi, we're from a rescuer in the west part of Pierrefonds who has spent time volunteering to help animals in Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua, so many of our friends are Spanish-speaking cats. We are linguistically very gifted, trilingual cats who speak French, Spanish, and English, and we lose no opportunity to display our vocal prowess. I, Estrella, am the lovely long-haired tuxedo (black and white) cat with beautiful deep green eyes like the sea, and my sister Luna-May is the black cat whose rhythms in life follow those of the moon under which she was born. We are available to be adopted separately or together, and will bring to your life much love, companionship, and conversation.
Handsome and Holmes
Hi, I'm Handsome, and I think it hardly needs to be stressed that I certainly do live up to my name! I'm a brown tabby and white, Main-Coon-type cat, extremely gentle and affectionate, easy to hold and cuddle, and I just crave human affection. My brother Holmes thinks he's a real Sherlock, and is totally over the top full of himself concerning his intellect and problem-solving abilities. I guess I do have to admit he's smart, and as you can see he is every bit as handsome as I am. We have always been together, but can be adopted individually if you prefer.
Cassie
Like so many other cats in this cold, cruel world, I was abandoned when my owners decided I did not fit in with their décor. I had loved and trusted them so much, and my heart was completely broken. But Cause 4 Paws took me in, and I am well fed, sheltered, and loved, but I am still looking for my forever home, one that will not abandon me. My heart is beginning to mend now because of the TLC I am receiving, but when I meet the person who is going to love me forever, I will know it immediately. I am a female, short-haired soft gray tabby and white, a little over one year old. I get along very well with other cats and with dogs.
Sybele and Jolie
Hi, we are two Persian cats, declawed front paws, who, like Cassie, were abandoned when our owners decided they wanted a Siamese cat and a dog instead. There was no reason to hurt us like that-they could have kept everyone, since we get along with other cats and dogs as well. I. Sybele, am a calico Persian, a very rare and exotic-looking cat-it was the first time anyone in Cause 4 Paws had ever seen a Persian cat who is a calico! My sister Jolie is a blue-cream Persian, also very loving an affectionate and docile, a lap cat, essentially. We can be adopted together or separately-our brother Cashew (now Mishou) has already been adopted, and he wrote to us saying he has never had so much love. We are a little jealous, and of course we want the same for ourselves. We have much love to give and beauty to share.
More cats are available... please come to our cat adoption days to see us and the cats... |
